Illustrations as Trigger images
The illustrations I designed for VR Collaborative Puzzle Game served as crucial visual elements for AR Scavenger Hunt. It was not only to design a beautiful illustration of 5G use cases, but also to make sure each piece works well as a trigger image to launch a video in augmented reality.
This is because augmented reality using Image Recognition and tracking relies on advanced Computer Vision technology to detect and augment images.
The illustrations have to meet requirements as a target image such as contrast, patterns, textures, ratio, that the Computer Vision can recognize and launch a video triggered from it.
As a lead visual designer, I was successful in delivering assets that visually appealing as well as they meet technical requirements for the stability of the application, which eventually an important part of user experience.
5 illustrations (trigger images) were placed in the lobby area of Verizon HQ. Kids needed to find and scan them to watch a video for the next clue.
